Here are
some of my favorite sites related to Hi-Fi. You
can find valuable information, service manuals or just have a good time.
- The Vintage Knob: http://www.thevintageknob.org/
A
tribute to the golden era of Hi-Fi and a precious data base for many equipment
with a lot of useful information. Mr. Axel has done a wonderful job, if he ever reads this post a big Thank You!
- Amp 8: http://amp8.com/ (for Google translated version of the site click here)
A Japanese repair shop that has a lot of pictures from the repair procedure. Japanese language, better use Google translate. For a start, look at the repair of a monster Sansui B-2301 here.
- Vinyl Engine: https://www.vinylengine.com/
You
can get all the info you need regarding your turntable or cartridge, even the
service manual. You can also learn a lot in order to get the best sound from
your records. Needs registration but it is free of charge.
- Video regading Technics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tKe2JSeX4Y&feature=youtu.be
Thanks to my friend Panos I discovered this nice Japanese video about Technics with English subtitles. It is not limited to the new SL-1200 but it goes back to Technics history and of course it is referring to the new product range.
- Techmoan HiFi Videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLN2yCnHTG_6qjr-JAECy9Qnl_t6ek4CXD
A genious, funny but deep look at Hi-Fi equipments and technologies. I am always looking forward for his next video.
- Adrian Kingston: http://www.adrian-kingston.com/Theatre.htm
I like his page especially for the info he has for some Technics power amp beasts like SE-A5 & SE-A3.
- Mastercontrolmedia Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mastercontrolmedia/
Hi-Fi photography is an art here. Cool photos of many Hi-Fi equipment, favors Sony ES series.
- Hi Fi Engine: https://www.hifiengine.com/
Looking for owner's manual? Need of service manual? Have a look here, needs registration but it is free of charge.

- Once
upon a time, a Hi-Fi company could afford to invent new technology, design the
machines that would produce it and then create the factories that would make
everything from scratch. Even if you are not a fun of Pioneer, you can only
admire the glory of an era where a Hi-Fi company could be something like an
empire, even affecting society. This documentary will travel you there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLgIV1wRfHc
- Mr. Paul McGowan is the co-founder, designer, and CEO of PS Audio. At this playlist, he gives short answers to many interesting questions in a style that I really admire and find it a pleasure to watch.
- Need some test tones to evaluate your equipment? "AudioCheck gives you access to an extensive collection of sound tests,
playable online and downloadable in high-quality for patrons."
